Welcome to Clarendon Chiropractic: A Creating Wellness Center. We’re excited you are considering a visit to our office. Check out what to expect and how to become a patient. Get to know us, then contact us to make an appointment. We are here to help the communities in DuPage County and the surrounding areas of Illinois.
Prior to your first visit, we ask that you complete your new patient intake form in full, either online or in person. The more information we have about your health history, the more we can help. Therefore, we ask that you take your time filling it out with as much detail as you see fit.
Upon arrival you will find convenient onsite parking. Next, you will be warmly greeted by our amazing front desk staff. Help yourself to a glass of water or ask for a cup of tea. If you have already completed your new patient paper work, great! If not, please do so. Then you will be ready to meet with Dr. Surrusco.
The first day is very comprehensive but should be done in about an hour and a half. These are the steps we will take to ensure we have a solid foundation for your chiropractic functional medicine care plan:
The major emphasis of your initial exam is to evaluate your spine and central nervous system, determine how it is functioning and locate the stress and challenge areas that need to be addressed. The first part of the exam we perform is a computerized assessment that allows us to measure the amount of stress on your central nervous system. This test is one of the foundations of our exam.
Our office specializes in chronic health issues, auto-immune issues, and neurological issues as they relate to non-celiac gluten sensitivities, celiac disease, head traumas (concussion recovery, injury recovery and peak performance for athletes). In these cases, specific lab and neurological balance assessments may be recommended in addition to the other components. After your assessment, Dr. Surrusco will go over all the information gathered on this first visit and create specific recommendations to review with you on your next visit.
On your second visit, our front desk staff will again greet you and get you checked in for your appointment. You will then be taken to Dr. Surrusco’s office where he will go over the results of your examination. We refer to this as your Report of Findings. Of course, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have at this time as well.
First, the doctor will explain the results of the scans that were performed. The scans have 2-3 components, depending on what was done, and each will be explained and related to your specific condition or challenges. It is very important to us that you have a good understanding of what is going on with your spine and nervous system, so we accept and encourage questions throughout your Report of Findings. Lastly, we will go over the details of our recommendations, so we can get you on the road to repairing, restoring and maintaining optimal health.
Your second visit should take an hour or so.
